(Hervalha guys! Hope all is well. Here's a fun lore scene and sketch I came up with for some of my favorite characters: Tyrus Godsbane(the Caspian warrior holding the sword), Neir (the sly looking Aven leaning on the broken wall.), and a few other rebels and friends in their "Underground" hideout. Enjoy!)
- Intro-
Two guards are patrolling the ruins of the destroyed Verraina Commons, a.k.a The Devil's Cradle, for the runaway rebel son of their High Lord and King, Julian Valerian. They pass into yet another fallen alley of broken homes and silent prayers, when out of the corner of their eye, they see movement. Its too dark to see, so the guards approach what appears to be just another dark corner of a fallen wall, but soon find half a dozen pale eyes looking back at them with stern, yet unfaltering gazes of disgust.
Among them was a young Caspian lad, tall and standing strong like the very wall he was leaning on, yet wore nothing but the rags his own father wore before he was sentenced to death for a crime he had nothing to do with. He looked back at the cautious Pureblood hounds with a narrow brow and unimpressed frown, and simply asked: "... Can we HELP you?"
The guards said nothing at first, quietly letting their eyes cast over the others that stood with him like a jury of ignorant snobs passing there sentence without ever hearing their voices. After a long pause, one of the guards raised his lantern to give himself a better view of the 'hooligans' that littered their path, and asked if they had seen any suspious Purebloods running around in the dark...
… and without skipping a beat, the young aven girl that leaned against the wall answered: "Other than your sister?... No."
Both guards grit their teeth, almost hissing in heated breaths and spiteful words at the abandoned spawns of the very criminal they guarded every day. They once again asked, now with a hand on the hilt of their blades, if they had seen any Pureblood's in royal armor trying to get into trouble.
… and without skipping a beat, the small Leonian sitting in the fallen window sneered with a meow: "Oh, you mean like the two dumb-lookin' dawgs that walked down dis way about a minute ago?... Yea, we saw 'em."
The two rather dull guards looked almost relieved, and without thinking of what the feline actually said, asked if they saw which way they went. The Caspian lad, in almost a instant blur and a backwards flic of his wrist, pointed the prince's sword back down the alley towards the city dump, and said. "They took their asses back to where they belong about a minute from now... So if ya hurry, I'm sure you'll get their first."
The two guards didn't waste another second of their time with the street rats they were force to never harm, and without even thanking them, turned on their high heels and followed their lead to a well deserved dead end.
The group of young rebels waited patiently until the light from their lanterns was dissolved by the heavy darkness of their quiet hideout, but the moment they heard the deep bellow of the feline sitting on the roof above them call out that the coast was clear, the gentle minotaur and witty goblin jumped up off the hidden latch of their underground tunnel, and threw open its hinges to let the young prince Galen Valerian and Alexander Lennox know it was safe to come out.
"Thank you!" The young prince Galen said with a grateful tone. "I'm so sorry, I didn't know I was being followed. Did they give you any trouble?"
"Naw..." The aven Neir said with a witty grin. "... but I would tell ya daddy to fire those dicks. Not only are they dumb and blind, they can't listen worth a shit!"
END
(I would write more, but if I don't stop, the next thing we know is that there's a whole book on a single post. If ya reading this, then thanks for sticking around! I'll try to do more of these if people like it, and once again, thank you for any and all support.)
